Why Fat Loss Meal Plans Fail
By Tom Venuto
Did you ever try a meal plan and end up terribly disappointed?

I don't mean having food shipped to you (like a meal prep service)...
I mean like getting a piece of paper that has all the food you should eat printed on it, meal by meal, with serving sizes and the calories and protein, carbs and fat (macros). That kind of meal plan.
If you have, you're not alone.
I've been doing my own fat loss meal plans successfully for years, but it wasn't always that way. For the longest time, I kept trying other people's meal plans. At first, I looked for diet books that had a meal plan in them.
Same thing happened every time I tried those (generic) meal plans...
I would take one look at them, scrunch my nose and be like, "Ew! I would never eat that!
It wasn't like the plan had worms for protein, I just mean the foods were things I didn't like.
Actually, sometimes they were pretty esoteric. You know, the so-called "super food" stuff.
Ever since, I steered away from the pop diet gurus for that reason - they're always into some Amazonian super berry or bioactive mushroom coffee or Himalayan yak butter or something like that. Weird.
And then there's those special diet meal plans that have like 20 foods you're not allowed to eat. You know, "the forbidden food list." Naturally, they're always your favorite 20. What's even left to eat?
I remember one time I purchased a meal plan from a guy who was supposed to be a top contest prep expert. He really did have a long list of champions on his roster. I spent $100 bucks on that plan.
The "meal plan" I bought from this "elite coach" was a single sheet of paper. One page. (Not even gold leaf).
This one wasn't anything fancy. Nothing weird. It did look like your typical bodybuilding contest prep diet. Im not saying it wouldn't have worked had I followed it. But I probably would have come out with a nutrient deficiency and 50% lower testosterone. POW victims get more food than that!
I was a little perturbed. I felt ripped off. Not just because I blew a hundred bucks, but because I had a sinking feeling he gave this same plan to everyone.
Why did I buy it? I don't know. It was a long time ago. I think in the eyes of a young competitor, it always seems like the contest prep gurus know something we don't and we can't help thinking there's some kind of magic in their methods or foods, or macros. I know better now.
Here's the problem with almost all meal plans today:
It's not that meal plans don't work. The problem is, almost everyone is following the wrong meal plan.... and simply misunderstanding meal plans in general.
Most people don't understand what meal planning really is (what it should be).
Here's a perfect example: Most people equate macro tracking (entering a daily food log into an app) with meal planning. But macro tracking and meal planning are not the same thing!
It seems like meal planning should be simple, but the diet industry and guru coaches have failed us all miserably.
Recently, I got to thinking, if I got taken in by those generic meal plans, even though it's my job to know better, I wonder how many regular people had bad experiences with meal plans too.
I then I wondered...
How many people would be interested in learning the truth about meal plans, why they usually fail, and how to finally get one that works for them?
That's when I decided that I wanted to teach meal planning and let as many people as possible know that there's only one kind of meal plan that really works.
I've been thinking about this for years, but in January 2021, I started putting together a brand new meal planning system. It has kept me so busy, I haven't had much of a social media or email presence in a while.
But I finally finished and now want to let everyone know about it.
You can hear more about the new meal planning system on the home page here: ==> Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle Meal Planning Guide
On that home page, first, I explain exactly why most almost allfat loss meal plans fail.
Then I show you...
The one (and only) type of meal plan that really works, and keeps on working.
I also share a short summary of the 8 massive meal planning myths that stop most people from even trying to do meal planning the right way. (Most people have gotten frustrated and given up on meal plans because of these false beliefs.
At the end of the page I talk about the release of my new Meal Planning program.
What I really want to do the most is create a multi-media course on meal planning. I think seeing meal planning taught on video and seeing meal plans actually get created on video, one food, one meal at a time, is a great idea.
That's a bigger project though, so what I decided to do in the meantime was this...
I created a new meal planning system as a short e-book specifically focusing on fat loss.
It's called,
The Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle Guide to Flexible Meal Planning For Fat loss
