I just wanted to let you know that I bought your book BFFM at the beginning of the year and in the first 12 weeks I lost 11 pounds of fat. I am down to 10 or 11% body fat and I'm currently gaining muscle consistenly, (and I'm 40 years old). I finally have total control over my body composition.
It was all simply a matter of adopting the right lifestyle habits. After I read your book, I realized that I was the poster child of bad eating habits. I was your worst case scenario (really). So I began slowly changing my eating habits, and now, eating right is just a normal way of life.
I found the most challenging aspects of your method were (1) trying to eat enough to gain muscle (that is harder than it sounds) and (2) continuously setting new goals as I achieve current ones. Pretty much every three months I have to re-evaluate my goals as I keep discovering more and more potential.
It all seems quite natural and common sensical to me now. I feel and look better than ever. and I just wanted to thank you for your education, and above all else, your ethics. I hope to meet you someday just to thank you in person.
P.S. Part of my motivation came from constantly asking myself, "What would Tom say about this?" Sometimes the answer would be "well done," but other times I imagined you would jog out to California from Hoboken just to kick my ass.
