How To Send Traffic Directly To The Burn The Fat Order Page
Some of our copywriting and sales-savvy affiliates have
asked us if they could send traffic straight to our order page instead of to
our long-copy sales letter, which is our default landing page. We are pleased
to announce that the answer is now yes!
The brief tutorial below will explain exactly why you might
want to send traffic to our order page (and why you wouldn’t), how to link to
our order page with a custom hoplink, some tips for making this strategy most
effective, and a legal advisory.
Tutorial
This is our main landing page (our long copy sales letter):
http://www.burnthefat.com
This is our order page:
http://www.burnthefat.com/order.html
Sending traffic directly to the order page is very easy. You simply need a
customized hoplink that will credit you as the referrer of the sales.
Here’s the special order page hoplink:
http://XXXXX.burnthefat.hop.clickbank.net/?page=order
Make sure you replace the field of XXXXX with your Clickbank ID. Then you can
test your link to make sure it directs you to the order page here:
http://www.burnthefat.com/order.html
Once you’re on the order page, click on one of the order
buttons, which will take you to the Clickbank shopping cart (where payment
information is entered). Scroll to the very bottom of the shopping cart page
and look for a field that says:
[affiliate = your clickbank id should appear here]
Check to make sure your Clickbank ID is in the field, which
will indicate a working custom hoplink.
How to Make the Most
of the Order Page Linking Strategy
We cannot guarantee any conversion rates as there are far too
many factors that affect conversions. What we can say is that our long copy sales
page has consistently converted between 1.0% and 1.3% over the eight
years we have been in business.
This is our conversion rate on ALL traffic that hits the
page, so it’s an overall average. Some traffic sources (unqualified, cold PPC,
etc) convert lower and some traffic (qualified and pre-sold) converts higher.
Our letter has been through countless split tests and
improvements since our early days and continues to convert well for us on
qualified traffic. Long copy works as well as it ever has. However, video is
getting a lot of attention in the past year.
We plan to continue split testing, including testing video
sales letters and video plus text sales letters in the near future. Some of our
affiliates are already testing video sales letters on their end with excellent
results. That’s actually what prompted us to allow our affiliates to send
traffic directly to the order page (bypassing our sales letter and instead
using their sales presentation).
Some of our affiliates have either written their own text
sales letter which they felt was more suited towards their website visitor’s
demographics, or they created a video sales presentation. These are either live
action (“talking head”) videos or a power-point type video (Camtasia, Keynote,
etc). They posted their letter or video on their own domain and include an
“order” button or “add to cart” button. That order button takes traffic from their
sales letter or video straight to our Burn the Fat dot com order page.
Results have been mixed so far, but we know that’s because the success of the
strategy depends on how good a sales presentation you do in your video (we’ve
seen some really great videos but also some really bad ones). Video is hot
right now, but a poor sales presentation won’t work just because video is the
media instead of text. If you can create
an excellent sales presentation on video, it’s highly possible that you could
get a higher conversion rate than text. The only way to know is to test.
If you’ve ever worked successfully in sales, you’re a prime
candidate to do a talking head video review or sales presentation. If you’re in
great shape as a result of using Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle, you’re also a
prime candidate for live action video (show off the bod!) If you have
copywriting skills, you’re a prime candidate to write a script for a power
point-type video sales letter or pen your own written sales letter.
We STRONGLY urge you not to send traffic to our order page without giving a
complete sales presentation on your website. You have to “sell” or “pitch” the
product before you link to an order page, otherwise you’re putting the cart
before the horse.
For example, sending traffic from a text link, article or a
banner straight to our order page generally won’t work well. If you do not have
the expertise to write and or videotape a complete sales presentation, then
it’s better to keep sending traffic through BurnTheFat hoplinks to our proven
and tested main sales page (landing page) here:
http://www.burnthefat.com
IMPORTANT: Putting a sales presentation on your own site
does not give you license to make any claim you want. If you write your own
sales letter, it must be fully legal, in accordance with all our affiliate
agreement terms and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) compliant. As a best
practice, we’d like to hear from you and review your letter or video before you
go live, in order to ensure legal compliance.
If you have any questions or if you would like to get a
critique of your sales letter, ebook review, video script or completed video,
please contact us at: http://www.BurnTheFat.com/contact.html.
Sincerely,
